4:30 a.m. AWAKENINGS
So, Darrell once again lost his keys as he does every weekend. He always seems to end up with my set somewhere during the weekend and leaving his in his pants or on a counter. This morning around 4:30, I woke up to "Geez, just get up already!" I could barely hear it because Darrell insists that he have a fan running all night which blocks out almost every sound. I hate it because I worry that I won't be able to hear the kids. Apparently, once again, I am right! Anyways, as I sat there I noticed that it sounded more like a car alarm. I went to the front door and opened it to listen. Low and behold, it was our van's alarm going off! I unlocked it with my remote, thinking that would help, but it just kept going. Then I ran through the house looking for my snow boots or something to slip on. Darrell was still not quite awake. I had him get dressed and he ran out any tryed to unlock it. The dang thing was still going off!! I found my boots and ran out to unlock it with the key. I figured that it would stop once I put the key in the ignition and started it. Atleast I tryed. I popped the hood thinking maybe I could undo the battery. As I franticly searched for the latch, I was being defened by the horn blaring in my ears. I got the hood up and realized that I would probably need tools! Meanwhile, Darrell was looking around the house for the phone to call the base cops. I still don't know what they would have done. We couldn't find the phone, any of them!! Darrell yells, "Call the house with your cell phone!" As I am on the phone, listening to the house phone ring, I am thinking to myself "Why don't we just use the cell phone to call, Duh." I find the house phone and run to the computer to look up the phone number to the SP's. In the middle of all of this, Ezekiel comes out of his room and says "Mom, stop doing that!" I try to comfort him by saying "I know honey, just go back to bed! We are trying to fix it." Darrell in the meantime, had run to the shed to get tools to undo the battery and finds his keys in the lock. He was thinking that I had obviously already been to get tools and then remembered his keys were missing. He looks down and notices the light blinking on the remote! He runs back in and shows me. He says "We are just going to have to smash it! I don't know what...." That's when I reminded him of this glasses repair kit we had just bought last month. (glad we bought one now) We ran to the bedroom and I unscrewed the screws on the remote and popped the battery out. YEAH! What a way to find lost keys! We had a little laugh, gave Ezekiel some more cough medicine and now after that excitement, I am going back to bed. By the way, Noah slept through the whole thing. Then again, he did sleep through earthquakes in Japan all the time!

So, this is a normal thing at our house. What can you do?! They are boys. Listen to Ezekiel say "BEAT IT" Noah gets a little jealous sometimes. I guess it's normal sibling rivalry. Ezekiel knows he's to stinkin' cute and plays it to the fullest. He has started asking us "Am I cute?" or "Is this cute?"

Today I had to help pass out bread and juice for green ribbon week for the PTA. (I am secretary) Ezekiel was so good today. We were there for about two and a half hours. He sat quietly out of the way for about 45 minutes, then we were running around putting stuff away and he stayed right by my side. Then, when we were chatting by the cars, he sat quietly and watched the cars go by. He was so good today. Needless to say, I took him to Toys-R-Us and let him pick out a toy. He picked a car case for his cars and has carried it around all day.
Noah started school this week. It's been crazy trying to fit in homework, piano, and chores. I think he is also really missing his daddy. He has been really rebellious. I've decided to forgo chores until he can get back into the swing of things. I let him go to a sleepover tonight even though he hasn't done his chores or piano all week. I did make him do piano before he left. Here is a picture of his first day of school. I took him to watch a Hip Hop class on Wed. and he was very excited about it. The one he will be in will be Hip Hop/Break Dance. He said "Mom, how about I don't take piano and just take Hip Hop" I told him "Nice try, but piano is not an option." He's a funny kid. He can't wait to start Hip Hop.

busy weekend
On Friday we went to the zoo (since we have an annual pass I thought we'd use it) Noah took his friend Timothy. We had lots of fun. We went a few hours before it closed and there was hardly anyone there. It was nice not to have to push people over to get to where you want to go. We went to The Old Spagetti Factory for dinner. The boys loved it!
Noah got to spend the night at his friends house. They went to bed at 2:00. That's right 0200 hours. Amanda said that Noah was up at 6:00 looking through her cabinets.
Today, we went to Lagoon before school starts. We watched their little show where people come out and sing and dance. Noah loved it. Noah is crazy. He will go on any coaster. This is the same kid who will choke you to death if you try to put him on your shoulders. Ezekiel is to short to go on the good rides, but give him a few years and he will be ready to go. The first few times he didn't understand why Noah got to go and he didn't. My poor little boy.

noah's party
Lunch at Fazoli's. MMMMMM Good food. The boys wanted to take this picture to tease Daddy a little.
Our friend Tyler is into Halo. This is his cake. One of my masterpieces if I do say so myself.
OK. So my friend baked the cakes, but I sculpted and decorated.
MAN!!! This turned out awesome!
Sunday was Noah's birthday. Here's a little video of some of the fun they had swimming. It was really fun. Where does the time go? We had it at the Aquatic Center here in town. You couldn't guess that Ezekiel had to be rescued earlier in the day when he "fell" in. I have a feeling that he jumped in. Noah's friends have all bugged their parents about going back to swim again. I'm glad we had his party there. I didn't know it was so much fun there. I registered Z for lessons there. Ironically while he was drowning. There aren't to many sports for him to play yet. Noah wants to start lessons too. Who knows, maybe in 12 years we will see them at the Olympics going for the gold.

Trying to keep up
To anyone who even looks at this blog, which is no one right now I am sure. I just finally got my password-I forgot it, and things have been busy. I now want to start keeping this up. More to come.
